And the Winner Is…

debbie wish you were here pinterest boardCongratulations to the winner of our Wish You Were Here Pinterest contest: Debbie!

Contestants were asked to create a Pinterest board inspired by their perfect vacation spot and incorporate one of our notes or cards. We received so many delightful entries that made us want to pack our bags this minute, so thank you to everyone who participated!

For her board, Debbie created a most delectable beach getaway, complete with dreamy images of mojitos, surfing and seaside strolls. She used our Hand Engraved Starfish Correspondence CardAviator Glasses Correspondence Card and Shell Note, which all fit perfectly with her beachy theme.

A couple others we loved:

Gena’s tribute to Prague using our Hand Engraved Peacock Feather Note (apparently one can see them wandering about the city) as inspiration. Street lamps in the fog, lush gardens and river strolls make the City of 100 Spires a perfect summer destination.

Elizabeth used our Turtle Note for her board entry, which pays homage to everyone’s favorite shelled, lumbering reptile. Who wouldn’t love to see one — or ten — on their next coastal vacation?

Again, thank you to everyone who entered, and bon voyage!

Life’s richer with friends, so let’s stay in touch. Follow us on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.

Post Script: Carrie Crane, Stationery Designer

If Carrie Crane’s last name sounds familiar, it probably is (especially if you’re reading this blog). Crane & Co. has been a family-owned business for more than 200 years, and, well, Carrie is part of that family. So, one might say she was born with a love of classic correspondence.

Carrie Crane headshotThat love, combined with her designer chops, aligned last year when Carrie — who grew up in Dalton and was in and out of the mills with her father from a very early age — won the Crane family’s design challenge. The winner would see his/her creations turned into exquisite notes, which are made available online and in retail stores. Which means letter lovers all over the world will be penning their thoughts on her signature stationery.

“Winning the Crane Family Design Challenge was really a big deal to me,” she said, “and seeing the cards beautifully engraved, with the their luscious, lined envelopes, in Crane & Co. boxes is so exciting and truly makes me proud.” Here, Carrie — an artist for more than 20 years — chats with us about pen/paper harmony, the joys of junk mail and why she’d love to have a cup of coffee in Egypt.

Crane & Co. A Love Story Contest

Update: Congratulations to the winners of our A Love Story Contest… Brandy & Tim! Enjoy your $500 toward Crane stationery at The Pleasure of Your Company, and most of all, enjoy your Big Day!

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of participating in a wedding invitation trunk show at one of our favorite stationery boutiques, The Pleasure of Your Company in Baltimore. Brides flipped through Crane & Co. wedding invitation albums, had their names written by calligrapher extraordinaire Karen, sipped on mimosas and nibbled on cupcakes by The Velvet Chocolatier.

Brides were also gracious enough to share the story we never get tired of hearing: The proposal. Ski trips gone awry, picturesque vistas and surprise guests are just a few of the delightful details we heard over the course of the day.

To sweeten the experience (and just in time for Valentine’s Day) each bride’s story was entered in our A Love Story contest. Each video story will be posted on our Facebook page, and the story that receives the most ‘Likes’ by February 10th will win $500 toward their next Crane & Co. stationery purchase at Pleasure of Your Company. Wedding invitations, personal stationery, moving announcements — the possibilities are endless.

So without further ado, here are the entries (remember, to vote, head to our Facebook page and ‘Like’ your favorite story):
