With the launch of our new 2012 Social Occasions collection comes a bevy of new trends. Don’t worry, you’ll still find the classic elegance and craftsmanship Crane & Co. is known for, but with it, fresh design that might just inspire you to celebrate. We’ll be there with bells on.
It’s quite a testament to your social occasion that you’re announcing it via richly thick 100% cotton paper. But it’s those small details that really make your stationery sing, which is why we love hand-bordered edging. And yes, it’s really hand-bordered, as in one of the lovely ladies in our stationery factory painting each edge with exquisite care.
Parties are festive, and so are vibrant pops of color. Whether it’s Pantone’s Color of 2012 or the yellow-on-grey color scheme of this Save the Date, we like to think elegant doesn’t have to equal ecru.
There is something lovely about classic simplicity with a touch of fantastical flourish. An ecru card, offset by a bold envelope liner, for example. How could you check ‘regrets’ after feasting your eyes on this red chevron?
Letterpress, foil stamp, thermography. Social stationery can be printed using myriad printing processes. But there is only one Grande Dame, and she is the most exquisite of the bunch. Watch a printer engrave an invitation and you’ll know exactly why. It takes tremendous skill, precision and patience. It feels divine. And it looks oh so elegant.
We love a hint of vintage and romance in our soiree themes, and so it isn’t surprising that one of our favorite trends is die-cut stationery. Whether it’s a simple rounded corner or a more elaborate design that transforms a piece of paper into a picture frame silhouette, a few curves go a long way.
